Seventeenth day

The day started quite late: I woke up at 09:30; that's normally the time I leave! So I quickly put on my clothes and Milan's wife made me a nice breakfast (thanks!) It was nice to stay here, and they generously offered me to stay another night, but I really had to go. Very nice people :-)
I left Sombor around 10:45, that was much too late since I still had to cover more than 100 km's. My trip today was only on flat terrain, so I was happy with that. Luckily the wind was in my advantage today: I reached speeds of 25 km/h easily (having a daily average of more than 20 km/h!) which made me happy. :-)
Thing that didn't make me so happy was the traffic! Hungarians drive like maniacs, but Serbians area really crazy!!! Several times I was passed by buses very closed to me; what an idiot drivers! Especially when the roads are bad, it's quite dangerous, since you want to avoid the holes, but when upcoming traffic comes, it's hard to look back since traffic may pass you at the same time (at full speed). Most truck drivers were OK in Serbia, they waited when they could pass me or sometimes I got into a driveway to get out of their way.
My journey was actually quite fine, besides the crazy traffic. some 35 km from Novi Sad I stopped at a petrol station to have lunch (chocolate, chips and energy drink :-p). Many times I saw road sign for restaurants with 'domaci kuhina' but most of these places were deserted. :-(
When I was eating, a guy came up to me, asking were I was from. We had a nice chat (Serbian and English; I didn't know their are so many people speaking that in SRB ;-) and he even invited me for a drink. Normally I would say yes :-), but I still had to cover some distance (also dark clouds in the air). We will take that schnapps another time! ;-)
Around 18:30 I arrived in Novi Sad: Nemanja was my host. He introduced me to his friend, Milan, who offered me to stay with him (thanks!). We sat there and had some drinks and food, with some interesting conversation on the work of Nemanja on a cruise ship! There after I went along with Milan to his place. We ate something there, me writing my report, and he was preparing for work (works in a small restaurant from 10h - 6h). I did some things on the computer, were after I went to sleep!
Tomorrow will be my first day I don't have to cycle (rest day): that's strange! ;p
I guess I should have planned that earlier during my trip, haha. But I survived, that's most important! :-D
