Reisverslag Eight day
22 juli 2014
The day started in a empty house: Franz already left for work around seven and I was sleeping till eight. When I packed my stuff, I first went to the local 'Bäckerei' and had a good breakfast. I left around 09:45 with my rain-outfit on!
After 15 km I noticed that my pants was getting just as wet from the inside as from the outside, so I decided to take my rain-pants of. The first two hours through the rain were not great, the unpaved roads were dirty, and also my bike and bags are pretty dirty now. Luckily there were also some good things: the view was great, I made a classification systems for all kinds of roads in my head, and I saw three Ducth ships! (two from my hometown Rotterdam :)
The rain stopped around 12h (only drizzle from then on) so I could take off my ridiculous rain suit. :D When I came to the Danube I was very happy! This is the beginning of the end! Everything looked great, but from this point I had to cut off an extra part, which meant more hills. O_o The climbs were relatively long (not too steep) and villages were mostly situated in the valley. This meant I had to go up, and when I went down I had to brake, this totally destroyed my potential energy (annoying). When I had still 40 km to go (75 km already cycled), I was a bit bored and didn't feel like cycling anymore... So I went for a drink in one of the sleepy villages, talked to an 76 old lady who run a Pension. Very impressive.
After that, the energy came back and I finished my day in Straubing. Kristin was the person to welcome me there: a nice student currently doing a sort of internship at a school. We ate some delicious wraps and played with here three ferrets! :) I'm quite tired now, so I will probably go to bed early. First a good night sleep and then tomorrow the final leg of Germany: up to Passau!

Volgens mij gaat het goed met jou, allen moet je oppassen als je na beneden ga, niet 50 km/h!
Jij bent niet op tour de France! Ha-ha!
